It was also confirmed director Matt Reeves will return to take on the next chapter. No word yet whether Barry Keoghan will fulfil the promise of the first film's post-credits scene that teases the Joker.
Reeves also reportedly added that more details would be revealed: “in a CinemaCon to come.”
For the unversed, the latest Batman movie was a massive hit garnering huge numbers at the box office, earning $100 million in its opening weekend - reported to be the only second pandemic-era movie to do so. Meanwhile, the flick is currently the highest-grossing movie of the year, having raked in $759 million to date at the global box office.
Pattinson’s The Batman, 2022, depicted Bruce Wayne in his earlier years, and takes place in Year Two of Wayne taking on duties as the Dark Knight, while learning to be a superhero in Gotham. The film earned rave reviews from fans and critics alike, and enjoyed a successful run at the US box office.
