THROWBACK! Scarlett Johansson Agrees To Go NUDE In ‘Under The Skin’ But, Only On ONE Condition; She’ll Be ‘Naked But Not Too Sexy’
Scarlett Johansson, in interaction with Yahoo News, spoke about why being naked was relevant to the plot of the film - ‘Under The Skin’
Scarlett Johansson is quite a superstar and she has garnered much fame for her role as Black Widow in the Marvel movies. However, her gorgeous looks and tongue-in-cheek remarks make her an undisputed champion of all the stars. Unfortunately, she has often been objectified in the industry. Johansson has been stripped off only because he has the body.
But, did you know she once agreed to do a naked scene in the movie, under only conditions only!
In 2014, Johansson portrayed an alien in the 2014 sci-fi film ‘Under The Skin’ directed by Jonathan Glazer. She played an alien who lured men and feeds them with an evil identity from her planet. As per the film’s plot, the has to be completely naked while consuming the flesh and hence Scarlett Johansson, too, to bare it all.
Speaking of the condition, Scarlett Johansson, in an interview with W magazine in 2014, revealed the only prerequisite before she agreed to do the scene. She said, “She was a totally different species, so her n*dity was kind of practical. I also had black hair. That was my idea — I didn’t think I should be a blonde sort of bombshell. N*ked, but not too s*xy.”
In another interaction with Yahoo news, the Avengers actor spoke about why being naked was relevant to the plot of the film.
She said, “I’m a pretty private person. It’s not like I want to be displaying myself all over the place… But I think I realized that through the process of just letting go, and allowing myself as the character to be totally present at the moment, and making the discovery of my own self, as [my character] does… I realized what kind of judgment I place on myself and how self-conscious I am about all different kinds of things. That wasn’t just the n*dity, but many different situations where I just had to… we just couldn’t capture what we needed unless I was totally free of myself. That, in a sense, was very liberating.”
Scarlett Johansson’s ‘Under The Skin’ received a positive response from the critics, however, the film did not receive the love one would expect a ScarJo movie to get, even though she was naked in it.
