Ali Abbas Zafar Thrilled To Helm Mr India Trilogy For OTT Platform; Mogambo Khush Hua

Filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar is in the seventh heaven! Feeling privileged, the director will be leading the classic film Mr. India trilogy for the OTT platform. He also clarified that this web content is not a remake or a sequel to the classic film, but a reimagination of late actress Sridevi and Anil Kapoor’s characters. The casting of the same is yet to be done.

Known for his blockbusters Tiger Zinda Hai and Sultan, director Ali Abbas Zafar is on a different high in his career now. Kicked about helming a trilogy based on the 1987 hit movie Mr. India starring Anil Kapoor and late actress Sridevi for the digital platform, Zee 5, Ali is indeed feeling privileged. The filmmaker taking to his Twitter handle announced the same.  He is currently in the scripting stage and hence no actor or actress has been locked for the project. 

Ali Abbas Zafar also clarified that this upcoming project of his is not a sequel or remake but a reimagination of the original flick. Giving more deets about the project he quoted to IANS, “I have just commenced working on the script, no actor has been locked till now, once the first draft of the script is ready, we will begin the casting process. The film involves massive amounts of pre-production and will go on floor early next year.” 

He Tweeted, “Excited to partner with @ZeeStudios_for an epic trilogy #MrIndia! It is a huge responsibility to carry forward an iconic character loved by everyone. Currently, working on the script, no actor has been locked till now.  Once we lock the first draft of the script, casting begins!” 

Also keeping him in news these days is his political thriller starring Saif Ali Khan, Gauahar Khan and Amyra Dastur in the main lead, set to entertain the audience on Amazon’s OTT platform. Spilling the beans about the project Saif Ali Khan, had revealed to Mid-Day, “It is a show based on politics and is set on a massive scale. I don’t want to use American examples, but it’s along the lines of House of Cards, set within the framework of Indian politics.
