Lockdown due to COVID-19 has affected many industries; one of it is the entertainment business. With films which were supposed to release in Summers 2020 being pushed ahead for an uncertain period, many makers are also considering the option of releasing the movie on OTT platforms. Joining the league to release on the OTT platforms are Senior and Junior Bachchan flicks, all gearing up to entertain the audience on the OTT platform during this lull phase. With this move of the makers, OTT platforms, Amazon Prime Videos remains in race.

As per reports in Bollywoodhungama.com, Amitabh Bachchan’s Jhund helmed by Sairat famed director Nagraj Manjule, is set to hit the OTT platform soon. The movie was scheduled to hit the screens on May 8, 2020. Moving on to Abhishek Bachchan’s flick Ludo co-starring Rajkummar Rao will also be released on the OTT platform soon. Both the films were backed by Bhushan Kumar’s production banner, T-series. A source disclosing this news said, “Yes, Amazon has acquired rights of both films, which will now release directly on the streaming service.”

“Both films are T-Series productions and given the extended lock down period, the makers felt it was better to release Ludo and Jhund on the streaming service rather than wait for a theatrical release, which will take a long time,” source further added.
Also as per current scenario filmmakers too are left with making some hard choices in order to recover the monies invested in the making of these movies. ALSO READ: Anil Kapoor Once Wanted To Sign All Films Rejected By Amitabh Bachchan And Abhishek Bachchan; Read To Know Why
