Chacha Vidhayak Hain Humare Actor Sunny Hinduja On Working With Zakir Khan: ‘We Were Like A Family On Set’- EXCLUSIVE
Zakir Khan’s web show Chacha Vidhayak Hain Humare recently returned with its second season on Amazon Prime Video. The show has been positively received and its actor Sunny Hinduja, who plays Vicky Maheshwari, is overwhelmed by the response.

“I am so happy. What else does an actor want than to be appreciated and accepted. I am glad our hard work and efforts are being recognised,” he says.

His co-actor and writer Zakir said that Sunny has the most interesting character in the show. Reacting to it, Sunny just feels thankful to be able to do what he did. “It’s all thanks to my training from FTII and the people who have supported me in my journey of so many years. My passion and knack to better myself has just kept on growing and I feel I am on the right track. I just feel grateful to be surrounded by such supportive people. Such assurance helps me to go ahead with strength to do better,” he asserts.

Sunny is all praise for Zakir, the co-star. “He walks like he doesn’t know how to do anything but ends up doing amazing work. He supported me throughout and we had such an amazing chemistry on set. There were certain scenes where we had to hate each other and one scene where he had to slap me, but it wasn’t coming out naturally as we had developed a brotherly connection. We were like a family on set,” he gushes. So, did he learn any shayari or stand-up skills from Zakir? “Not his shayari, but I learnt a lot from his life stories. Not only him, but everyone on set taught me something. There was a lot of inspiration on set.”

Chacha Vidhayak Hain Humare 2 focuses on the power of social media as a tool to raise your voice, and Sunny agrees with it. “Social media has become a great medium to reach out without any discrimination. It makes the people in authority listen to you and that has been shown well in our show as well. It is a great medium to voice your thoughts. Personally, I have used social media to sort out my electricity bill issue once. I also helped a friend who had lost his phone, and the response was instantaneous,” he recalls.

Sunny has also worked alongside Manoj Bajpayee in The Family Man and will be returning in its second season too. He is all praise for the legendary actor. “Manoj Bajpayee is not just an actor but an institution in himself. I spent a good amount of time with him and he shared a lot of his experiences and life stories with me. The place that he has reached, coming from where he did, is an inspiration in itself. He also helped me in making some contacts and nobody does that. I just feel thankful for that opportunity,” he raves.

Sunny insists that he is a prime example of how the digital medium has come as a saviour for artists who normally wouldn’t have got much chances to work on the big screen. “I came to this industry with a thought to do a big film and become a hero. As and when I grew and matured, I realised I want to do it properly by learning and knowing the craft and thankfully I got in FTII. While there, I got a film with Subhash Ghai, but that didn’t release for five years. Time passed and there was just silence and I wasn’t doing much television, so there wasn’t any avenue for me to work. That’s when by God’s grace web industry came as a blessing. Eventually, I realised I just want to do good work, irrespective of the medium as I am just here to act,” he concludes.
