Ever since the trailer of ALTBalaji’s next, Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala dropped, there have been two things people have been talking about. The first is the fact that we will be seeing two of television’s biggest actors in the digital space – Rajeev Khandelwal of Kahiin Toh Hoga fame and Divyanka Tripathi of Banoo Main Teri Dulhan fame. It does make sense that they would venture into the web under the homage of Ekta Kapoor herself, though. Secondly, the duo seems to have sizzling chemistry in the trailer.
As we can see from the trailer, Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala is a love story with a burst of drama. The protagonists, Vikram (Rajeev) and Nithya (Divyanka) seem to have been sweethearts while they were studying in college, presumably a hotel management institute. Like it often happens with young love, their relationship meets with a bitter end and they part ways.
8 years later, they are re-united under professional circumstances. Vikram is now a celebrity chef, Michelin star winner and also an owner of a successful restaurant. As fate would have it, Nithya is a chef at that very restaurant. Both of them are devastated on seeing each other and it opens up old wounds. Nithya, in particular, is finding it difficult to deal with this unexpected turn of events. Will this rekindle their old flame? Will this get in the way of their professional success? Or will they continue doing their jobs unaffected?
Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala promises to be a passionate love story told in a chef’s world. It’s a world that has rarely been explored in an Indian setting and given the mettle of the two lead actors, we can’t wait for this one!
