All our childhood dreams seem to be coming true as Disney+ is coming to India. It was earlier scheduled to launch on 29th March but the company held it back and announce the revised date as 3rd April. It’ll be in collaboration with Hotstar and the app will be branded as Disney + Hotstar from hereon. The rebranded app will stream content in eight languages including Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, and others. The biggest selling point will be that you can stream all the Marvel Cinematic movies on the app.
The subscription cost of Disney + Hotstar VIP plan is Rs. 399/- annually and will include Marvel Cinematic movies like The Avengers, Iron Man, Thor Ragnarok as well as Disney classics like The Lion King, Aladdin, Frozen 2, and Toy Story 4. Bollywood movies like Tanhaji, Bala are included in this pack and will also stream all the live sports telecasts. The subscription cost of Disney + Hotstar Premium plan is Rs. 1499/- which will include all the content from the VIP pack as well as all the English content which includes American shows from HBO, Fox, and Showtime and Disney+ originals like The Mandalorian, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series and more.
The free users of the app will just be able to watch match highlights and analysis of the various sports content like IPL, ISL, PKL, etc.
The existing subscribers will automatically be upgraded to their new subscription without any extra charge and the new charges will be applicable on renewal.
Meanwhile, Hrithik Roshan took to his Twitter handle and invited people to join him at the digital Red Carpet Premiere of The Lion King and the new Disney+Original The Mandalorian on Disney+ Hotstar, which will be held today.
