Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke AKA Khaleesi confesses how she was pressured into shooting for nude scenes post the fantasy show
Not very long ago, Game of Thrones’ Arya Stark AKA Maisie Williams had opened up on her ordeal while shooting for the popular fantasy drama. Maisie revealed how the makers used to strap her breasts to flatten it out so that she doesn’t look like a grown-up woman and rather a young girl. This, unsurprisingly, had a bad impact on the actress. Now, yet another GoT star has recalled her horrific experience and it will send chills down your spine. We are talking about Emilia Clarke, who is popular for her portrayal of Khaleesi/ Daenerys Targaryen.
In a conversation with Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, the actress revealed how she was petrified to shoot nude scenes in GoT and this only got worse with time, as she was being expected to do it for her other projects. In fact, the makers put her into pressure by saying that Emilia not shooting nude scenes might disappoint her GoT fans. She was quoted as saying, “I’m a lot more savvy (now) with what I’m comfortable with, and what I am okay with doing. I’ve had fights onset before where I’m like, ‘No, the sheet stays up’, and they’re like, ‘You don’t wanna disappoint your Game of Thrones fans’. And I’m like, ‘F*** you.’”
However, Emilia lauded her co-star Jason Momoa for being utmost supportive and protective of her, while they were shooting for their wedding night scene, which eventually turns into a virtual rape. As per a report in The Guardian, she said, “He was an experienced actor who had done a bunch of stuff before coming on to this – he was like, ‘Sweetie, this is how it’s meant to be, this is how it’s not meant to be, and I’m going to make sure that that’s the fucking gaze.’ He was always like, ‘Can we get her a fucking robe? She’s shivering!’ … He was so kind and considerate and cared about me as a human being.”
