With several Bollywood films skipping the theatrical release and having a direct digital release, here’s a list of movies like Gulabo Sitabo, Shakuntala Devi: The Human-Computer, Thalaivi, and others that will release on OTT platforms soon.
Gulabo Sitabo- This Shoojit Sircar directorial stars Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana in lead roles. The trailer of the movie was recently released and was gripping and entertaining. Gulabo Sitabo is slated for a digital release on June 12, 2020, and will release on the streaming platform Amazon Prime Video.
Shakuntala Devi: The Human-Computer- The film stars actress Vidya Balan in the pivotal role. The actress plays the role of Shakuntala Devi who was also known as the human-computer. The film is directed by Anu Menon and is releasing on streaming platform Amazon Prime Video. Thalaivi- The Kangana Ranaut starrer is based on the life of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa. Directed by Vijay, the film is set to have a digital release as it has been sold to Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, reports Pinkvilla.com
Laxxmi Bomb- Directed by Raghava Lawrence, the film stars Akshay Kumar in the lead. As per reports, the makers are in talks with Disney+Hotstar hoping the film might have a digital release by June. The film also stars Kiara Advani, Tusshar Kapoor, and Sobhita Dhulipala.
Indoo Ki Jawaani- Kiara Advani’s film based on a Delhi girl and dating apps. Directed by Abir Sengupta, Indoo Ki Jawaani also features Aditya Seal and Mallika Dua.
Jhund- The Amitabh Bachchan starrer is based on the life of Vijay Barse, the founder of NGO Slum Soccer. Helmed by Nagraj Manjule, reportedly, Jhund will release on streaming platform Amazon Prime Video.
Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl- Directed by Sharam Sharma, the film stars Janhvi Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, and Angad Bedi in lead roles. Produced by Dharma Productions, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl is said to be releasing on streaming platform Netflix.
