Just Binge Session With Bhumi Pednekar: Durgamati Actor Talks About Her Prep And The Music That Gave Her Power To Play The Titular Role – VIDEO
A while ago, actor Bhumi Pednekar released the trailer of Durgamati which soon became the hot topic of discussion. Shedding her girl-next-door image, Bhumi steps into a complex role where she lives two different characters - one is an IAS officer Chanchal Chauhan while the other one is a possessed Durgamati. However, to bring division to these two characters needed some big-time prep, and well, talking about the same,  Bhumi Pednekar reveals what went behind it and the kind of music that sets her in the right mood to play Durgamati on the big screen. While exclusively speaking to host Manish Batavia of SpotboyE's Just Binge Session, the actor said this is by far the toughest thing she has done in her career.

"With Durgamati, there are so many shades that you see this girl play and it is honestly an actor’s delight. It is one of those rare chances that an actor gets to play where you get to do various things. And because it is a conspiracy thriller, set in a horror milieu, there are many twists and turns, I’m trying to narrow my words because I don’t want to give a lot away. When it comes to prep, it was more about the mindset. It is about a girl who goes through a tragedy, she is behind bars for a murder case, and nobody can understand what is happening,” she told in the interview.

Struggling to find words, Bhumi simply said that she had to change her mindset while playing the character. All she had to prepare for was the stance of Durgamati and the way she spoke. The Dum Laga Ke Haisha actress also stated that before doing any Durgamati scenes, she used to listen to fusion indie music, high energy shlok music, or rendition that gave her immense power.

Talking about Durgamati, it is a story of an IAS officer who falls prey to a major political conspiracy involving powerful forces and ends up going behind the bars for a murder case. For the investigation, she is imprisoned in a haunted house where the officers interrogate her in the corruption case, and in the course of action, she experiences some scary incidents. ALSO READ: Jisshu Sengupta Says Bhumi Pednekar’s Durgamati 'Is Much Better' Than Anushka Shetty Starrer Bhaagamathie After Fans Slam The Former
