Laxmii has become the talk of the town, all thanks to Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani. The film was released on Monday on Disney+ Hotstar VIP and within hours of release, the film is reaching new heights. Well, the film has already broken viewership records, so much so that the horror-comedy has surpassed the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi starrer Dil Bechara which was the first film to release on Disney+ Hotstar's Multiplex movies. Akshay and Kiara starrer has beaten Dil Bechara to become the biggest opening movie ever on the OTT platform. Dil Bechara had for 95Million views in the first 24hrs of its release. An announcement on the same was shared on their official Instagram account while thanking the viewers for all the love.
"#Laxmii breaks all records to become the biggest opening movie ever on Disney+ Hotstar VIP! Thank you for all the love," their Instagram post read. Previously, Disney+ Hotstar had made a similar announcement after the release of Dil Bechara. “A film that will always be etched in the hearts of all Bollywood fans. Your love has made Dil Bechara the biggest movie opening. Ever,” the post read.
SpotboyE.com gives Raghava Lawrence directorial venture, Laxmii 2 stars. The film is said to be abominably loud, largely shrieky and over-the-top with plenty of physical comedy. A part of the review read, "Even when dressed in a saree this is a one-man show. And no bumper prizes for guessing who that man is. Really, Akshay Kumar deserves a lot better than this mangled mess of mirth and horror signifying nothing except a complete bankruptcy of imagination."
Laxmii is an official remake of Kanchana which was originally played by Raghavan Lawrence who is the director of the Hindi version. ALSO READ: Laxmii Social Media Review: Akshay Kumar-Kiara Advani Starrer Gets A Mixed Response From Netizens; Read Two Extreme Views
