Sherni Trailer OUT: Vidya Balan's Next Directed By Amit Masurkar Is A Riveting And Promising Flick
On Wednesday, director Amit Masurkar released the trailer of Vidya Balan starrer Sherni. The film is set to release on Amazon Prime Videos on June 18.
After releasing the intriguing teaser and poster of Vidya Balan's Sherni, the makers today unveiled the official trailer of the film. Starring Sharad Saxena, Mukul Chaddha, Vijay Raaz, Ila Arun, Brijendra Kala, and Neeraj Kabi in pivotal roles, the trailer takes you on a roller-coaster ride and is all set to premiere on June 18 on Amazon Prime Video.
On June 2, the Shakuntala Devi actress took to Instagram to release the trailer of one of the most-anticipated films, Sherni. The exciting trailer showcases Vidya’s incredible journey, set in a world full of quirky yet relatable characters, as she navigates through her marriage with her rather unusual job, all this while trying to resolve the man-animal conflict. Sharing the trailer on Instagram, Vidya wrote, #SherniTrailer is out. Be courageous. Be strong. Be fearless. It's time for the #Sherni to roar!

Sharing her excitement on the trailer launch, the versatile actress Vidya Balan said, “Ever since I first heard the story of Sherni, I found the world fascinating and so far removed from my own. Also, the character I play, Vidya is a woman of few words but many dimensions. The film deals with a sensitive topic that touches upon respect, mutual understanding, and co-existence, not just between man-animal, but between humans as well. Speaking about working on this unconventional entertainer, the prolific director Amit Masurkar shared, " Sherni is an intricately-layered story, exploring the complex issues of conflict between humankind and animals. The film will see Vidya Balan in the lead, as an upright Forest officer – Vidya, who powers through the brutal beasts of social barriers set by the patriarchal society and the lackadaisical attitudes within her department. Sherni is produced by T-Series and Abundantia Entertainment.
Vidya was last seen in Shakuntala Devi with Sanya Malhotra which released on an OTT platform. Sherni will be Vidya's second film to have a digital release.
