Sushmita Sen and the team are ecstatic as their crime drama series Aarya on Disney+ Hotstar, has been nominated at the 49th International Emmy Awards. Starring the Bollywood superstar Sushmita Sen, Aarya bagged the nomination in the ‘Drama Series’ category, becoming the first show from the Disney+ Hotstar content offering to be nominated at the prestigious Emmy’s.
Sharing the news on her Instagram account last evening the Fiza actress wrote, " OMGGGGGG!!!! AARYA is nominated for Best Drama Series at the #InternationalEmmyAwards2021 @iemmys.Was busy dubbing for AARYA2…just got the news!!!! Yipppeeeeeee!!!!" Later the actress also shared her excitement through a statement, she said, "It is surreal to know that Aarya has been recognized globally amongst the Best Drama series in the world and to be nominated at a platform as prestigious as the International Emmy Awards is phenomenal. I am overwhelmed with the love and faith viewers across the world have put into our labour of love and want to thank each one from the bottom of my heart for the encouragement. With a power-packed combination of Disney+ Hotstar and Ram Madhvani, I am now looking forward to recreating the magic of the International Emmy Nominated Series in Season 2!"

Aarya marked the ex-Miss Universe Sushmita Sen's debut in the world of digital streaming. The actress won hearts for her powerful performance as she portrayed the titular character. Joining the powerhouse ensemble cast in the show were talented actors Chandrachur Singh, Namit Das, Sikander Kher, Jayant Kriplani, Sohaila Kapoor, Sugandha Garg, Maya Sareen, Vishwajeet Pradhan, and Manish Chaudhary in pivotal roles.
Meanwhile, Sushmita is currently dubbing for the second season of Aarya. The show will soon stream on Disney+Hotstar.
