As per the latest reports, the most-talked-about docu-series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness also known as Tiger King has clocked in huge numbers just like Stranger Things. Netflix feels the docu-series is at par with Stranger Things’ third season. What’s your take on this?

With the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, even though it has severely affected the human race and made a huge loss in the economy sector, it has proved to very fruitful for the OTT streaming platform, Netflix which had a staggering start to the year with the lockdown in place. New subscribers grew more than twice, what it forecasted and new interesting releases on the platform only provided a boost amidst the lockdown. Shows like Spenser Confidential, the critically-panned action-comedy was watched by 85 million, Money Heist season 4 also known as La Casa de Papel in Spanish hit 65 million.

But the one show that can be considered to be a winner here is the most-talked-about docu-series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness also known as Tiger King which has been watched by 64 million people. That’s not it, other than being the most-watched show, Tiger King tied Stranger Things’ third season which was also watched by 64 million, as reported by The Verge. The series received acclaim from critics, and according to Nielsen ratings, was watched by 34.3 million people over its first ten days of release, ranking as one of Netflix's most successful releases to date.

Interestingly, beating all of them, the same portal mentioned that The Witcher was watched by 76 million households, thus making it the most-watched first season of television ever for Netflix. The same portal also mentioned that ‘Tiger King’s numbers are impressive but not overly surprising.’


Meanwhile, The Witcher is an American fantasy drama series which is also based on books just like Game Of Thrones. The show stars Henry Cavill, Freya Allan and Anya Chalotra in the lead roles. On the other hand, Tiger King is an American true crime documentary miniseries about the life of zookeeper Joe Exotic.
