The film starts with a simple scene where Anwar (Kartik Aaryan) is taking measurements of Noor (Meher Mistry) to sew her clothes. The scene itself hooked me to the film and made me want to watch more. Silvat is a story set in the year 1997, Bombay. It is about a married woman Noor who stays alone in a small house. Her husband is in the Middle East, Riyadh, for work and hasn't paid a visit to her for 5 years now. He leaves on the 4th day of their marriage and Noor has been living alone since then. A local tailor named Anwar is in love with Noor which he never confesses. The film is about only these two characters and trusts me they made it feel full. The screenplay of the film will keep your eyes stuck to your screens till the end.

This love story is presented without bringing up the word love between the two of them. It's just their eyes that speak in most of the scenes in the film. Small details like Noor's excitement to prepare tea for Anwar or Anwar bringing Noor her favorite cuisine and eating together makes this film looks so beautiful.

With a well-written script and immersive narrative, Silvat takes you to another world. A world where no one fights for their love. They know the circumstances and love is left unfulfilled. Director Tanuja Chandra takes us to the year 1987 with the plain views and outdated fashion that makes it look more real. The walls of Noor's house are a little broken and the paint fading away, a small kitchen with limited utensils and a door that looks rustic makes it clear that every detail of the shots was taken care of with utmost honesty.

For quite some time now Kartik Aaryan has been criticized for delivering the same kind of characters with his films. Be it the Pyaar Ka Punchnama series or Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, or even Pati Patni Aur Woh, the actor seemed like presenting the same character with different names in his films. But here, he is not your typical Bollywood Hero. Silvat is proof that Kartik is a director's actor. There is not even a single scene where the actor lost his grip, he was flawless throughout the film. Kartik Aaryan outshines in this tale full of love, heartbreak, and silence!

Meher Mistry's character, Noor, is mostly confused. She knows she is in love with Anwar but she isn't ready to accept it even for herself. Meher's acting is good but it's Kartik who steals the show in this one.

All in all, if you're in a mood for some quality content, this is a perfect choice for you. The investment of 45 minutes into this film will make your time worth it.
