The name itself suggests the day is meant for the worship of goddess Lakshmi. According to Hindu manuscripts, today the goddess roams around the universe throughout the night. She is said to be blessing her devotees with wealth and health for their life.  So in today's write up we have got all the deets of Lakshmi  Puja covered for you. 

Date
Lakshmi Puja falls on the third day of Diwali and is celebrated on the New moon. This year Lakshmi puja will be celebrated on Oct 27, 2019 across India.

Puja Vidhi
So now let’s take a look at puja vidhi of Lakshmi Puja, ultimately welcoming the goddess at her our homes. Though Diwali is celebrated across India, ritual of Lakshmi Puja differs from state to state and culture to culture. However, the basic of the Lakshmi puja are more or less the same. A Kalash filled with water in placed on bed of rice, further betel nut, coin, flowers are added to the Kalash. Then a small bowl or flat dish is placed on top of the Kalash filled with rice and turmeric being used to draw a lotus on it. Goddess Lakshmi is then placed on it, with coins around her.  
Followed by this Lakshmi is bathed in panchaamrita and then decked with flowers, worshipping with haldi-kumkum. A lamp is lit and aarti is performed by the members of the house. Later the goddess is offered with the puffed rice and white sugary sweet, and same is distributed among the members of the family.

Muhurat
The Lakshmi Puja muhurat today begins at 05:28 pm and ends at 08:10pm. You may worship the deity in between 10:30 am to 1:30 pm as it is also said to be auspicious and luck worthy.
