Panghrun: Mahesh Manjrekar’s Panghrun Bags Best Indian Film Award Bengaluru International Film Festival
The Bengaluru International Film Festival is a hub of talent from across the world where filmmakers of great repute or award-winning films in the major international film festivals are screened in different categories. It is organized by Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy for the Government of Karnataka. This is the 12th edition of BIFFES, the Bengaluru International Film Festival and was held from February 26th to March 4th, 2020 in Bengaluru.

‘The Chitrabharati Competition’ where Indian films compete with each other is a prestigious platform that appreciates only the best talent. Mahesh Manjrekar's film Panghrun starring daughter Gauri Ingawle, is officially selected as the Best Indian Film in the 12th edition of BIFFES in the Chitrabharati competition.

The film Panghrun is Gauri Ingawale’s official debut as a lead actress, releasing on 20th March 2020. Before even the release of the film, it has turned out to become a huge success and Gauri’s performance in the film is also recognized by the critics as remarkable. She has worked as a child artist in 3:56 Killari.

The film is set in a vintage era and Amol Bavdekar and Sulekha Talwalkar are also a part of this film. The story is about a young girl married off to an elderly man who has daughters almost close to the bride’s age. The bride takes on the household like a mature woman but has an innate ability to dance gracefully. She is seen practicing ballet moves to a gramophone in one of the trailers. From the looks of it, it seems to be a musical film with the melodious playback by Ketaki Mategaonkar. Her mature performance is evident in the 2 minutes musical trailer where sensitive emotion is conveyed only through her expressions and body language.

While Mahesh’s daughter Saiee debuted with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in one of the most popular franchises of Bollywood, Dabangg3, his stepdaughter is making her debut in Marathi.
