Veteran actor Vikram Gokhale has left for his heavenly abode after being on the ventilator for the past few days. While the reason behind his demise is yet to be shared, the actor breathed his last on November 26 at Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital in Pune. The sudden death of the actor has left the industry and his fans in deep shock.
The actor was admitted to the hospital in November because he suffered from multi-organ failure. In the morning, it was reported that the 77-year-old actor’s health was slightly deteriorating and he was back on the ventilator. If the recent media reports are to be believed, his last rites will be performed this evening at Vaikunth Crematorium in Pune. Gokhale leaves behind a huge legacy that will be remembered for generations to come. He was famous for acting in the Hindi and Marathi film and television industries. Ever since his debut in 1971 with Amitabh Bachchan’s Parwana, he went on to star in many incredible movies. He appeared in movies like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Agneepath, and Khuda Gawah.
He was honoured with the National Award for Best Actor for his performance in the Marathi film Anumati in 2010. The late actor was last seen in the Abhimanyu Dassani and Shilpa Shetty starrer comedy ‘Nikamma’ which was released in June this year.
For the unversed, he was the son of Marathi theatre and film actor Chandrakant Gokhale. Vikram Gokhale was also a social activist who provided financial support to disabled soldiers, children of lepers, and looked after the education of orphan children.
