Amaal Malik is someone who doesn't believe in holding back. So, when we recently caught up with him for a candid chat on his recently released song Kya Kiya Tune from AltBalaji's Broken But Beautiful, the multi-talented artiste poured his heart out about his journey till now.
At a time when all of us are going through an emotional patch, we asked Amaal, as an artiste how do they deliver and say, 'the show must go on' even when nothing is right around them. The singer, all of 30, revealed to us that how he had to compose a party number from Kapoor & Sons, Kar Gayi Chul, during his lowest phase. (Watch the video below)
"Bhaut mushkil hai. Maine mere life ke ek bahut hi serious time par Kar Gayi Chul banaya tha. I was going through a bad health phase, doston se, mummy-papa se ladaiyan ho rahi thi, studio jaane ka mann nahi karta tha. I was doing 16 films in a year, I was frustrated at the age of 25, thakk gaya tha main. Uss time mera mann tha to write a song about my journey, something like ilahi but I was asked to make Naache Hai Dilli, Hile Hai London, ab kya karein? Kabhi kabhi gaano ka naseeb hota hai, jo banna hota hai woh bann jatte hai, sahi log judte hai toh gaana aacha bann jaata hai," said Amaal.
We then asked him if he ever practices restrain in composing, writing or singing his songs, in order to not over expose himself to the world. Amaal replied, "Mere sab gaane mere zindagi mein hui cheezon ke bahrain mein hai. I relate to Kaun Tujhe because I have felt that with someone. People should not hide their emotions but at the same time, I have never let my emotions overflow to a point that they distract me from the film's script."
Well, looks like Amaal has had a rather eventful journey in the music world till now. Watch the video above for more dope.
