Prasoon Joshi undergoes knee surgery

Over the past few months, told you about Sonu Nigam undergoing surgery on both his knees (Another knee surgery for Sonu Nigam, May 25).

And now, we have come to know about another B-Towner undergoing knee surgery --scriptwriter and lyricist Prasoon Joshi. He injured his knee a little over a month ago, while playing football. Following the surgical procedure, Prasoon has been resting it out at home.

The lyricist told, “After the surgery,  I was not allowed to move out of my house for a month. But I feel much better now and have started stepping out of my house for a couple of hours every day. I had broken my right knee while playing and the doctors said that a surgery is the only way out.”

Prasoon had last worked for the Sonam Kapoor-starrer Neerja (2016). Prior to this, we also told you about he and A.R. Rahman walking out of
Secret Superstar (earlier titled Aaj Phir Jeene Ki Tamanna Hai), which was produced by Aamir Khan’s former manager Advait Chandan. The duo quit when the project showed no signs of progress even after they worked on the soundtrack for almost a year (AR Rahman walks out of Aamir Khan’s film, May 10).

The two were upset that Aamir wasn’t showing any interest in the movie’s progress.

Says a source close to the maestro from Chennai, “Prasoon and Rahman sir had been doing their bit in terms of music sessions, but the film just wasn’t moving forward. No one wants to invest time but not see results, right? Aamir wanted to be thoroughly involved but Dangal hasn’t left him with time to do anything else. So, eventually, Rahman sir decided to quit. Ditto Prasoon.”

We wish Prasoon a speedy recovery!
