Hindi Medium Song Ek Jindari Will Make You Want To Relive Those Carefree School Days

Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar-starrer Hindi Medium has been making the right noises ever since the trailer of the film released. Now, the makers have dropped a fresh song from the project titled Ek Jindari and it tugs at your heartstrings.

Remember the time when you got excited at the sight of new stationary? Or performing at annual days swelled your chest with pride? Ek Jindari packages these sentiments in a little over 2 minutes.

The song has the lead couple Irrfan and Saba carefully observing school children as they put up a mesmerising performance on-stage and play with musical instruments.

It also brings to the fore the couple’s dilemma whereby on one hand they are eager to get their daughter admitted to an elite English medium school, however, the memories of their rooted, simple upbringing never leave their side.

The song has been sung by Taniskaa Sanghvi and composed by Sachin- Jigar. Interestingly, most of its background score has been created using daily use items such as buckets, cycle tyres and brooms among others.

Irrfan also took to Twitter to share his excitement over this song.

For those who've come in late, Hindi Medium is about a middle class couple who is confused about their daughter’s education. They want to get her admitted to a top league school, and thus start by posing as super rich people. But soon realise that the normal quota of admissions is over, and now only a few seats are left but they are specific for very poor people. Thus they start to pose as downtrodden. It's a funny satire about how parents can go to any extent just to get their kids admitted to a top league school irrespective of how good or bad the school's teaching is.

Directed by Saket Chaudhary, Hindi Medium has been produced by Dinesh Vijan, Bhushan Kumar, and Krishan Kumar. Apart from Irrfan and Saba, the film also stars stellar performer Deepak Dobriyal.
