As the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is nearing, the makers of Banjo decided to release the first song of the film – one that centres on Lord Ganesha (Watch video above). Titled Bappa, the song sees the film’s lead actor Riteish Deshmukh dancing away as he celebrates the festival with gusto. The peppy number has been composed by Vishal-Shekhar, with Vishal Dadlani even crooning behind the mic. Amitabh Bhattacharya has penned the lyrics of the song.
Riteish Deshmukh plays the role of a Banjo player in this upcoming musical and is paired opposite the sexy Nargis Fakhri, who is seen in the role of a New York based DJ. Nargis had flown away to the US earlier this year to address her “health issues” and had been missing from Bollywood circuit, leading to speculation that she had quit the industry for good. However, the actress had slammed these rumours and had promised to return to India to promote Banjo (Nargis Fakhri slams rumours of quitting Bollywood, Jul 28). Nargis stuck to her word as she returned to the bay a few weeks ago for the trailer launch.
Marking the Bollywood debut of filmmaker Ravi Jadhav, Banjo is produced by Eros International in association with Vashu Bhagnani’s Pooja Entertainment. The film is slated to release on .
You can watch Bappa exclusively on 9XM and Jhakaas.
