National Film Awards 2019: Ammy Virk Starrer ‘Harjeeta’ Bags Best Punjabi Film Title
The Ammy Virk starrer ‘Harjeeta’ has bagged the Best Punjabi Film title in the 66th National Film Awards. The film ‘Harjeeta’ was directed by Vijay Kumar Arora and written by Jagdeep Sidhu. It was released on May 18, 2018.

The movie portrayed the story of a young India hockey player, Harjeet Singh Tuli, who was India’s captain in the Men’s Hockey Junior World Cup 2016. After a wait of 2 years, it was under Harjeet Singh’s captaincy that India won the trophy.

For the movie, Ammy Virk worked hard to match the looks and the movements of the real Harjeeta. To sport an athletic body Ammy had to lose weight. To bring reality on-screen he had practised for hours with the real-time hockey players in their base camp. However, after a year, his efforts have finally paid off.

The other important cast of the movie includes Sawan Rupowali, Sameep Singh, Pankaj Tripathi, Raj Jhinjer, Gurpreet K Bhangu, Parkash Gadu, Sukhi Chahal and Jarnail Singh.
