In a shocking turn of events, Chaitra Kotoor, who was seen in Kannada Bigg Boss 7, attempted suicide on Thursday by consuming phenyl at her residence. She was soon rushed to a local hospital, and according to a report in Times Of India, her condition is now stable. As per the report, she had announced her wedding to Mandya-based businessman Nagarjuna a few days ago. However, police sources said that Nagarjuna’s family wasn’t ready to accept their relationship.
On March 28, pictures of Chaitra Kotoor tying the knot with Nagarjuna at a temple in Karnataka had gone viral on social media. She reportedly got married to Nagarjuna at the Byatarayanapura Ganapathi, and her family members attended the ceremony. She and Nagarjuna were reportedly in a relationship for the past few years, informed the police. The police also quoted Chaitra’s statement and said that after the wedding, when she went to Nagarjuna’s ancestral house, she was allegedly not allowed inside the house. She alleged that his family asked the couple not to enter, calling the marriage ‘invalid’.
She reportedly also said that Nagarjuna was constantly delaying their marriage, after which they decided to get married with the support of Chaitra’s family, and community leaders.
According to Times Of India, Chaitra told the police that Nagarjuna’s family had bad-mouthed her, her job and also gave death threats to her if she didn’t let him go. “So, we requested to hold talks in Kolar instead of discussing the issue in public," she said. The police said that they had called both of their families to the police station in Kolar for their statements.
Before being a part of Kiccha Sudeep’s Bigg Boss season Kannada 7, she was a scriptwriter for TV shows. She also had a supporting role in Haripriya’s Soojidaara.
