Kannada Actor Mayur Patel Booked For Drunk Driving After Multi-Car Collision in Bengaluru

Kannada actor Mayur Patel has been booked by Bengaluru traffic police in a drunk driving case after his vehicle collided with four other cars late on Wednesday night, leading to legal trouble and the seizure of his SUV. The incident occurred around 10 pm on Old Airport Road near the Commando Hospital signal when Patel, allegedly driving his Toyota Fortuner at high speed, struck a car that was waiting at a red light. The initial impact triggered a chain reaction, damaging multiple vehicles including two Swift Dzire cars and a government-owned vehicle. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported from the collision.

Traffic police personnel arrived at the scene soon after being alerted and administered a breathalyser test to Patel, which reportedly indicated alcohol consumption at levels above the legal limit. Following this, authorities registered a case against him at the Halasuru Traffic Police Station under relevant sections related to drunk driving and negligent driving, and seized the Fortuner as part of the ongoing investigation. Complaints were filed by drivers of the damaged vehicles, prompting formal legal action.

According to reports, a brief confrontation took place between Patel and one of the affected motorists at the site of the accident. Witnesses captured footage that quickly circulated on social media. In the video, the actor is seen stepping out of his vehicle and interacting with others present, though no official statement has been released by Patel addressing the incident so far.

Mayur Patel rose to prominence after participating in Bigg Boss Kannada and has acted in several Kannada films since his debut in Mani (2003), followed by roles in movies such as Love Story (2005) and Rajeeva (2020). The case is now under further investigation by Bengaluru authorities.
