Rishab Shetty starrer Kantara has set the box office on fire ever since its release. The film left the audience and critics speechless with its depiction of coastal Karnataka’s issues. The makers left no stone unturned in marketing the movie. After releasing the movie in Kannada, they released a Hindi version too, and it is safe to say that the movie is all set to enter the Rs 400 crore club.
With its enormous success worldwide, fans have been waiting for the movie to release on OTT platforms so that they can re-watch the movie. While an official confirmation from the makers is yet to be made, it is being reported that the movie will soon be released online. Yes, you read that right! According to IndiaTV, the trade tracking handles have reported that Kantara will be released on Amazon Prime Video. The movie will be streamed in all major South Indian languages starting November 24. We have yet to receive an official confirmation on the same by the makers and the streaming platform.
This is not the first time reports about the movie being released on OTT have made the rounds on the internet. Quashing the rumours earlier this November, the makers released an official statement stating that all the rumours are false and they will not be releasing Kantara on OTT any time soon. They said that an official date would be announced when they were ready. Written and directed by Rishab Shetty, the movie is produced by Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda under Hombale Films. While Shetty plays the lead in the movie, it also stars Sapthami Gowda and Kishore Kumar G in pivotal roles. Apart from Kannada and Hindi, the movie was also released in Tamil, Malyalam, and Telugu. Set in coastal Karnataka, the movie deals with the issues of land politics and man vs. nature.
