Rishab Shetty starrer Kantara has managed to become one of the most loved pan-Indian movies in 2022, from rave critics and audience reviews to celebrities and filmmakers from across the country expressing their will and desire to work with Rishab. Recently, Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela, who has been making a name for herself in the south industry, took to social media to share a picture with the star.
During a recent celebration, Rishab confirmed that he and his team are working on the prequel of the first movie Since then the fans have been excited to know more about the storyline and the cast of the upcoming project. For the unversed, it is being said that the prequel will narrate the story of Shiva’s father and the village demigod Panjurli Daiva. In the midst of it all, Urvashi shared a picture with Rishab with a #Kantara2, which sparked rumours about her being a part of the movie. The producers of the movie, however, have slammed the reports and called it baseless and untrue. As quoted by India.com, a source from Homable Films said, “All the rumors around Urvashi Rautela casting in Kantara 2 are totally baseless and untrue. Recently, Urvashi Rautela just happened to be on the same premises as Rishab Shetty, where she requested to meet the Kantara fame and he politely obliged. Written and directed by Rishab Shetty, the movie is produced by Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda under Hombale Films. While Shetty plays the lead in the movie, it also stars Sapthami Gowda, Kishore, Achyuth Kumar, Pramod Shetty, Prakash Tuminad, Naveen D Padil in pivotal roles. Apart from Kannada and Hindi, the movie was also released in Tamil, Malyalam, and Telugu. Set in coastal Karnataka, the movie deals with the issues of land politics and man vs. nature.
On the work front, Urvashi Rautela will be seen alongside Ram Pothineni in a pan-Indian film. She will also be seen in ‘Inspector Avinash’ alongside Randeep Hooda. The actress is all set to make her Hollywood debut with Michele Morrone on Netflix. In addition to the Hindi adaptation of ‘Thiruttu Payale 2,’ she will also star in the bilingual thriller ‘Black Rose,’ which is based on William Shakespeare’s book ‘The Merchant of Venice’.
