Malayalam Actor Shine Tom Chacko In Car Accident, Father Dies, Family Injured- Investigation Ongoing
Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko and his family were involved in a tragic car accident near Palacode in Tamil Nadu's Dharmapuri district on the morning of June 6, 2025. The accident occurred around 7 AM when their vehicle collided with a lorry on the highway. Shine's father, CP Chacko, died on the spot, while the actor, his mother Maria Carmel, his brother, and the driver sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
According to the car's driver, the vehicle was traveling at a speed of 60-80 km/h when a lorry suddenly swerved, leading to the crash. The driver confirmed that there were no other vehicles on the road at the time of the accident. Shine Tom Chacko sustained a fracture in his right arm, and his mother also suffered injuries. Both are currently receiving treatment at the Dharmapuri Government Medical College Hospital.
Visuals of the heavily damaged car and the actor receiving treatment have gone viral on social media. The family was reportedly traveling from Ernakulam to Bengaluru for Shine's medical treatment when the accident occurred.
Shine Tom Chacko began his career in the film industry as an assistant director before making his acting debut in 2011 with "Gaddama." He has since appeared in several acclaimed Malayalam films, including "Annayum Rasoolum," "Kammatipaadam," "Godha," "Parava," "Mayanadhi," "Operation Java," and "Kuruthi."
Recently, the actor was in the news due to a drug-related controversy, where he was arrested following accusations from an actress of harassment and substance abuse on film sets. Authorities had raided his hotel and allegedly found him consuming drugs.
