Malayalam actor Vijay Babu was arrested on Monday by Kerala Police for a sexual assault case by a new entrant in the Mollywood industry. The complaint was filed in April by the new actress stating that she was sexually harassed in a flat in Kochi under the pretense of giving the roles in movies. In a complaint, she mentioned that she was assaulted more than once.

The condition has been mentioned in the bail that the actor will have to be present for questioning from June 27 to July 3 from 9 am to 6 pm at Ernakulam Town South PS and he is barred from leaving the state. Meanwhile, the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) on Sunday extended its support in favor of actor-producer Vijay Babu and said that no action will be taken against him and mentioned, "as per the judgment of the court". The 46- year-old actor has also mentioned that he’ll stay away from the organization until he is proven innocent to save the association from disgrace.
