67th National Film Awards: Vijay Sethupathi Wins Best Actor In Supporting Role For Playing A Trans Woman In Super Deluxe; Actor Tweets Thank You Note
67th National Film Awards were announced in Delhi a while ago. As per the latest update on social media actor Vijay Sethupathi has won the best actor in the supporting role category for his movie Super Deluxe. This Tamil film released on March 29, 2019, in theatres and had received mixed reviews. The film saw the ace actor in a transgender role and playing a transwoman on the screen named Shilpa, the story revolved around a person who returns to his family after his transition.

Sreedhar Pillai columnist and trade analyst broke this news on this Twitter account that has definitely sent the actor’s fans in a celebratory mode. He Tweeted, “#VijaySethupathi wins #BestSupportingActor award for  #SuperDeluxe. #NationalFilmAwards” As the awards did not take place last year due to the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus, the film released in 2019 will be honoured this year.  These prestigious awards will be presented by the President of our country to the winners. 

The actor taking to his social media account thanked the audience and director Thiagarajan Kumararaja for his big win. His Instagram post read, “Thank you Director #ThiagarajanKumararaja & each and everyone #SuperDeluxe #Shilpa” On this note, we too wish the actor heartiest congratulations. Vijay’s co-star Samantha Akkineni was seen congratulating him, she wrote, “woo hoo .. congratulations”

Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut won the best actress award for her movie Manikarnika and Panga, while late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s film Chhichhore has been bestowed with the best film award.
