On the auspicious day of Ganesh Chaturthi, the makers of Annatthe released the first swaggy look of superstar Rajinikanth.  The actor's first look has fans hooting and how. We can see him with his trademark swag. The poster has the Thalaivii in a white shirt and mundu, cheerful and in a festive mood. Rajinikanth's Annaatthe also has Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Khushbu Sundar, and Meena in prominent roles. With the first look, the makers also announced the release date of the film. Annaatthe directed by Siruthai Siva is scheduled to be released this year on Diwali. It will release worldwide on 4 November 2011.

Set against a rural backdrop, Annaatthe is one of the highly anticipated films of Rajinikanth. Sharing the picture, makers wrote, “#AnnaattheFirstLook @rajinikanth @directorsiva #Nayanthara @KeerthyOfficial @immancomposer @khushsundar #Meena @sooriofficial @AntonyLRuben @dhilipaction @vetrivisuals #AnnaattheDeepavali.” Rajinikanth completed the shoot of the film and eagerly awaits the release of the film.

While the post-production is in full swing and nearly completing, it is gearing to release in theaters. The film's music is by D. Imman while cinematography and editing are performed by Vetri and Ruben respectively.  This is for the first time Siruthai Siva and Rajinikanth are collaborating for a film. The film's title was revealed on 24 February 2020 and Annaatthe marks the actor's 168th film project.
