The craze for South Superstar Yash’s upcoming release KGF: Chapter 2 among the fans is evident from the fact that even before its release the film has been creating a lot of buzz. And now, as the film is inclining towards its theatrical release, it is creating a rave in the metaverse as well. Yes, reportedly record number of Non Fungible Tokens (NFTs) have been snapped up by collectors. It is being termed the biggest NFT sale in India to date.
With the motive to further amplify the craze among the masses for KGF: Chapter 2, the makers came up with the unique idea of promotion. And looked like, they have succeeded in reaching out to the masses as 500 NFTs were sold in the first 10 minutes. The film franchise Hombale Films has introduced a set of three NFTs - Bombay Rocky, Narachi Rocky, and Toofan Rocky avatars. On Thursday, KGF franchise makers Hombale Films along with Lysto and Bookmyshow, unveiled 'KGFVerse', a digital avatar-based universe in the metaverse, for the fans. The stupendous response from the buyers during the sale resulted in selling 500 NFTS in the first 10 minutes which is an Indian record for any sale of NFTs in the country.
Founder of Hombale Films, Vijay Kiragandur spoke about the ‘KGFverse’ and said, “Metaverse is the new frontier of the Internet and an innovative way to engage with audiences and movie fans. Every artwork that one sees in KGF is a unique one, that cannot be seen in any previous films. This further propelled us in going big into the Metaverse. We also want our fans to be part of this and experience it.”
Helmed by Prashanth Neel, KGF: Chapter 2 is all set to release on April 14 in five languages: Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tondon in significant roles.
