National Award-Winning Tamil Director SP Jananathan Passes Away; Shruti Haasan, A R Murugadoss And Others Pay Tributes
National Award-winning Tamil director SP Jananathan breathed his last on Sunday. Though the reason of his death is unclear, reports have it that the director was found at his residence in an unconscious state on Thursday, followed by which he was hospitalised in a Chennai hospital, where he was reported to have died due to cardiac arrest today. Mourning his death was South movie industry's well known actress Shruti Haasan. The actress had collaborated with him for her upcoming movie, Laabam.

The actress took to her social media account and mentioned in her post that it was a pleasure working with him. She praised his wisdom and assured that he will remain in her thoughts. Also she paid her deepest condolences to the family. She tweeted, “It is with the heaviest heart that we say good bye to #SPJananathan sir - it was a pleasure working with you sir. Thank you for your wisdom and kind words you will always be in my thoughts! My deepest condolences to his family.”

He had won a National Award for his debut movie, Iyarkai released in Tamil in 2003.  The director had also directed few other films in Tamil such as, E, Peranmai, Purampokku Engira Podhuvudamai, Bhooloham and Laabam.
