Superstar Rajinikanth is one of the most loved stars in the industry. The superstar's success knows no bounds. Thalaiva's fans are beyond happy as Rajinikanth will be honoured with the 2019 Dadasaheb Phalke award for his contribution to the cinema, as announced by Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar this morning. PM Narendra Modi, Mahesh Babu, Chiranjeevi, Mohanlal, Vishnu Manchu, Venkatesh Daggubati and others took to their Twitter handles and congratulated the superstar.

PM Narendra Modi tweeted, "Popular across generations, a body of work few can boast of, diverse roles and an endearing personality... that's Shri @rajinikanth Ji for you. It is a matter of immense joy that Thalaiva has been conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Congratulations to him." Chiranjeevi Konidela who shares a great camaraderie with Rajinikanth wrote, "Elated at the announcement of the prestigious #DadaSahebPhalke Award to my dear friend @rajinikanth Truly deserving Your contributions to the film industry are immense my friend! Hearty congratulations! May the force be with you!"

Boney Kapoor shared a picture of the superstar and congratulated Rajinikanth on being honoured with the prestigious award. Rajinikanth dedicated the award to all those who have been a part of his journey.
The actor made his debut in Tamil Cinema with 'Apoorva Raagangal' and won hearts with his performance in it. Post that, he forayed into Kannada films. He has also successfully made a mark for himself in Bollywood. Some of his hit films include Lingaa, Kabali, Kaala, Petta, Darbar and Sivaji. The actor's journey is an inspiration to many. Even at the age of 70, he is unstoppable!
