Superstar Rajinikanth Admitted To Hospital In Chennai For 'Routine Check-Up' -Report
South superstar Rajinikanth was admitted to Kauvery Hospital in Chennai on Thursday. According to a report in ETimes, Rajinikanth had gone to the hospital for a routine check-up, where he later had to be admitted. The actor's publicist Riaz K Ahmed told PTI, "It is a health check-up done routinely on a periodical basis. He is now in a private hospital for the check-up."

The actor was in New Delhi a few days back as he was awarded the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his contribution to cinema. During his visit, he also met President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He got emotional while accepting the award and thanked his guru K Balachander and others who taught him great values and played an important part in his life. "I dedicate this award to my mentor, guru K Balachander sir. I remember him with great gratitude and my brother Sathyanarayana Rao Gaekwad, who is like my father, brought me up teaching great values and injecting spirituality in me," he said. On the work front, Rajinikanth will be seen in 'Annaatthe', which also stars Nayanthara. Directed by Siva, the movie is slated to be released on November 4. Fans of the superstar are looking forward to the film's release.

Over the years, Rajinikanth has featured in many South Indian films as well as Bollywood. He made his debut in 1975 with K Balachander's 'Apoorva Ragangal' and then there was no looking back. He has been a part of many successful films including Billu and Sivaji.
