One of the most renowned Tamil actors and comedian Vivekh who has worked with South superstars like Rajinikanth, Vikram, Suriya, Vijay, Dhanush and many more left for his heavenly abode today morning. Only yesterday, it was reported that the actor suffered a massive heart attack who was then rushed to a private hospital in Chennai and was in ICU where he was given first-aid and was later put on ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) support. However, much to everyone's dismay, the actor breathed his last at 4.45 am today, on April 17, at the age of 59. 

On Thursday, Vivekh had taken his first COVID vaccine shot at a public event in the presence of Tamil Nadu's Health Secretary. According to the NDTV report, the hospital clarified that he suffered acute coronary syndrome with cardiogenic shock; there was 100 per cent blockage in a vessel and the vaccine has nothing to do with his condition. "Vivekh was one of those who voluntarily came forward to create awareness on public health and social issues. The cardiac arrest he suffered had no link with the Covid vaccine shot that he took," Tamil Nadu Health Secretary Dr Radhakrishnan told the portal.

The music maestro AR Rahman took to his Twitter handle and offered his condolence to the actor by tweeting, “@Actor_Vivek can’t believe you’ve left us ..May you rest in peace ..you’ve entertained us for decades ..your legacy will stay with us” while actor Vikram Prabhu also penned his tribute on Twitter, saying, “You were a reason for many smiles and laughters sir. A great comedian, a wonderful actor and a socially conscious citizen. Unbearable to think you are not there anymore. Will miss you as one of your fans. #RipVivek sir” 


Another actor Gautham Karthik tweeted, “Not able to believe this... He made us laugh, he educated us through his performances, he cared for this world and helped teach us how to take care of it. There will never be another like you, sir. We will miss you. Rest in peace @Actor_Vivek sir #ripvivek”
