Tamil Actor Vishal Feeds 500 People After A Visit To ‘Captain’ Vijayakanth’s Memorial In Chennai
Tamil actor-turned-politician Vijayakanth’s untimely demise on December 29, left a hole in the hearts of his admirers. Actor Vishal, who was in New York at the time of his passing, visited his memorial on Tuesday, after he returned to India. Accompanied by the actor Arya, they visited Captain Vijayakanth’s memorial at the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) party headquarters in Chennai. After paying his final respects, heartbroken at the demise of the inspirational personality, Vishal proceeded to have a chat with the media and fed more than 500 people at his own expense.

While talking to the media present at the venue, the 46-year-old hailed the late celebrity for his hard work and reviving the Nadigar Sangam. The general secretary of the association, developed by 'Captain' ayya, expressed how he feels utmost pride. Quoted by Galatta, he went on to add, “We usually tend to hail a person as a God after their passing, but many called him as such when he was alive because he has done so much. The things he did for everyone were not during a period of only 2-3 years. If you watch the film Thirumoorthy, you'll see all the good deeds he did for people like us and the general public. You'll see in the film's credits how he served as an example with his good deeds and services for everyone.”

Further, he went on to share that they are planning to name the Nadigar Sangam’s building in Vijayakanth’s name. Revealing how the association wasn’t confident enough in naming the building he said, “I say this now as the General Secretary, a fan, and a member of the Actors Association, there's no difference of opinion here. If we said that Vijayakanth annan's name must be used in the front, all the 29 members of the body will agree to it. All the 3,500 members in the association will also accept it. It's a one-minute decision.”

For the uninitiated, the late 71-year-old Tamil actor-turned-politician breathed his last on December 28. He was suffering from pneumonia and was admitted to a hospital in Chennai. He was cremated at his party office in Koyambedu, Chennai. Numerous personalities gathered to honour his memory, including Rajinikanth, Thalapathy Vijay, and more, paid respects at Vijayakanth's funeral.
