Tamil Actress Subhashini Subramaniam Dies At 36: Alleged Suicide During Video Call With Husband After Argument

Tamil television actress Subhashini Subramaniam, also known as Sasvibala, tragically passed away at the age of 36 in Chennai, leaving the entertainment industry and her fans in deep shock. Originally from Sri Lanka, she had been actively working in Tamil television serials and films, gradually building her presence in the industry. She was particularly known for her role in the popular serial Kayal, which brought her recognition among audiences.

According to reports, Subhashini was staying in a rented apartment in Iyyappanthangal, near Porur, as part of her shooting commitments. She had travelled to Chennai in early March for work and was living alone during this period. On the night of the incident, she was on a video call with her husband, Bipin Chandran, when an argument reportedly broke out between the two.

The situation escalated during the call, and in a shocking turn of events, the actress allegedly took the extreme step of ending her life by hanging herself from a ceiling fan. Her husband, who was witnessing the incident over the video call, immediately alerted the apartment’s security personnel, who then informed the police.

Authorities rushed to the spot, recovered her body, and sent it for post-mortem examination at a government hospital. Given that Subhashini had been married for just about two years, officials have initiated a detailed inquiry as per legal procedures. The police have also stated that the incident appears to be linked to personal distress following the argument, though a full investigation is currently underway.

Her sudden demise has sent shockwaves across the Tamil television industry, with colleagues and fans expressing grief over the loss of a rising talent whose career had just begun to gain momentum.
