Tiger Award 2021: Nayanthara And Vignesh Shivan's Koozhangal Wins The Prestigious International Award
Nayanthara and director Vignesh Sivan's co-produced banner Rowdy Pictures's film and P. S. Vinothraj directed blockbuster film "Koozhangal" has won the prestigious Tiger award, making it the first-ever Tamil movie to achieve this award.
Lady Superstar Nayanthara and director Vignesh Sivan co-founded Rowdy Pictures, a company that produces and distributes several films. The first film to be distributed by Rowdy Pictures in that category was 'Koozhangal'. Directed by P.S. Vinothrah and featuring music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, the film was a hit. It is noteworthy that this film has won an award at the Rotterdam International Film Festival and is the first Tamil film to win this award. The award was recently presented to the film crew.

She also shared a gorgeous picture of her with her partner and director, Vignesh Shivan holding the award trophy. Nayanthara and Vignesh both looked happy and proud to be receiving this prestigious award and thanked everyone who worked with them to make this possible.
Talking about the movie, The opening shot of first-time director P.S. Vinothraj's Koozhangal (Pebbles) is as stark as it is evocative. We watch a bird building a nest on a bent, shaky branch - a little winged creature engaged in the rudimentary act of rustling up a safe shelter. For young Velu (Chella Pandi), son of an abusive and alcoholic man, Ganapathy (Karuthadaiyan), home is, however, only physical space. It does not ensure emotional security. The Tamil film, which plays out over half a day, has him more on the road, under the blazing sun in a water-starved, rocky region, than under a roof. The boy's life see-saws between anger and despair.
It isn't a surprise why "Koozhangal" has won the prestigious Tiger award, making it the first-ever Tamil movie to achieve this award.
