Reportedly, there are probabilities of imposing a rule of 50% occupancy in the theatre's post-elections keeping in view of coronavirus cases, as they are increasing in the state rapidly. The elections are scheduled for 6th April 2021. Tamil Nadu has noticed an alarming number of cases that show there is a need of imposing an ample amount of restrictions post-elections.

Dhanush Raja’s Karnan may get affected by the rule of 50% occupancy, if it is imposed in the state by 8th April. The film is all set to release on 9th April in the theatres.
