Chiranjeevi Honoured With Indian Film Personality Of The Year Award At IFFI; Says, ‘I’m A Slave To The Love Of My Fans’
Superstar Chiranjeevi has entertained his audience for more than four decades now. His efforts and struggles in the entertainment industry were honoured at the 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI). He received that Indian Film Personality of the Year award.

The 67-year-old actor got quite emotional as he spoke at the closing ceremony of the festival. He shared that even though he was born into a middle-class family, he was re-born as Chiranjeevi because of the fans of the Telugu movies. Quoted by the Hindustan Times, he said, "I thank IFFI and the government of India for giving me this wonderful award and great honour. Few recognitions are special, and this award is one such. I was born into a middle-class family, to humble parents. My fame, name, charisma, all privileges, the invaluable love and affection of my fans and everything, I owe everything to the film industry. I was born as Konidela Siva Shankara Vara Prasad to my parents, and I was reborn as Chiranjeevi in the film industry."

He further added that even after taking a decade-long break from acting to pursue a career in politics, his fans showered him with the same love and admiration as before. He went on to promise that he would never quit acting and would continue to make movies all his life. Talking about how he was worried about the audience’s reaction after her returned to films, he said, "At that time, I was sceptical about how people would receive me. (I wondered) will they shower the same kind of love and affection on me. I was having my doubts because the generation has changed. The amount of love and affection and my position in their hearts remained intact, in fact, they have doubled to my surprise."

"I will continue acting all my life. I can never quit acting because I’m a slave to the love of Telugu cinema fans," he concluded.

On the work front, Chiranjeevi was last seen in Godfather, a Telugu film. He is currently awaiting the release of his upcoming movie, Waltair Veerayya.
