South superstar Mahesh Babu recently made headlines for his controversial remark that he made about Bollywood. For the unversed, at the trailer launch event of his production venture ‘Major’, he said ‘Bollywood can’t afford him’ and thus he does not want to waste his time. Mahesh was slammed by a certain section of people on social media after his remark was taken out of context. Amidst this, the Telugu superstar is now being brutally trolled by several netizens for promoting a pan masala brand.     

#MaheshBabu has been trending on Twitter with trolls taking a dig at the actor. They shared an old video of Mahesh when he was a part of a campaign with a pan masala brand along with Tiger Shroff. Sharing the ad featuring the actor promoting the pan masala brand, one user wrote, “Bollywood can’t afford Mahesh Babu but pan masala can.” Another reacted, “A Pan Masala Company Can Afford @urstrulyMahesh but Bollywood Cannot.”

Speaking at the trailer launch, Mahesh Babu had said, “I may sound arrogant, I did get a lot of offers in Hindi. But I think they can't afford me. I don't want to waste my time. The stardom and love I have here in Telugu cinema, I never thought of going to another industry. I always thought I will do films here and they will become bigger, and my belief is turning into a reality now.
