Shaakuntalam: Samantha Akkineni's Upcoming Film Resumes Shooting In Hyderabad
Telugu actress Samantha Akkineni's most awaited film 'Shaakuntalam' is expected to hit the theatres later this year.
Shaakuntalam, one of the most awaited films of Tollywood featuring the diva Samantha Akkineni, recently shared an update regarding its shooting. The second schedule of this social-fantasy drama has recently resumed its shooting in Hyderabad.
According to the reports, there has been a huge erection of stage made in Hyderabad to execute the shoot of ‘Shaakuntalam’. In an interview, Gunasekhar said, “In the Aadiparva of Mahabharata, the story of Shaakuntalam and Dushyantha is the most interesting story. Shaakantalam is going to be a screen adaptation of the playwright Abnignana Shaakunthalam which was written by Kalidas. It is one of the greatest love stories and the story is set in the backdrop of the Himalayas. During the lockdown, I decided to make this part of Mahabharatam into a movie.” Producer Neelima Guna took to her social media handle where she has announced the news. She wrote, “Feels great to get back to work mode with Team #Shaakuntalam. Looking forward to doing some amazing work in the upcoming days”.
Taking about this centuries-old love story, the direction of the film is taken care of by Gunasekhar. Along with Samantha, the film features Dev Mohan, who is playing the character of prince Dushyant. This high on budget film is expected to hit the theatres at the end of this year.
