Samantha Ruth Prabhu attended the trailer launch event of her upcoming movie Shaakuntalam
After being away from the public eye to recuperate from her Myositis diagnosis, actress Samantha Ruthy Prabhu attended the trailer launch of her upcoming movie Shaakuntalam, on Monday in Hyderabad. She looked breathtaking as she posed for the paps and interacted with her fans during the event. Not only did she heap praises on the director Gunasekhar for his efforts, but she broke down when he recalled the team’s journey working on the film.
While recalling the past two years they have been working on the film, the director expressed gratitude towards the entire team’s efforts. He went on to thank Samantha for joining the event despite her health issues, which left her emotional. The 35-year-old actress looked ethereal as she donned an off-white saree and paired it with a sleeveless white blouse. She completed her look with minimal make-up, a pair of glasses and left her hair open. She was also seen holding a jaap mala with her.
Talking about the movie, starring Samantha and Dev Mohan, Shaakuntalam is a mythological play based on the popular play by Kalidas. The trailer of Shaakuntalam was released in regional languages and Hindi. Packed with impressive VFX, CGI and action sequences, the upcoming movie will surely be a treat for the fans. Shaakuntalam focuses on the daughter of Menaka and Vishwamitra, the first abandoned child in human history, Shakuntala, her fight for her love King Dushyanta and the repercussions she faces because of the same. The 2:52 minute-long trailer also gave a glimpse of Allu Arha as Shakuntala’s son Bharat. The movie is all set to release on February 17th.
Apart from Shaakuntalam, Samantha Ruth Prabhu will be seen in Khushi and Arrangements Of Love.
