Actors Kamal Haasan and Sarika tied the knot in 1988; unfortunately, they ended their 16 years old relationship in 2004. The couple shares two daughters - Shruti Haasan and Akshara Haasan. Even though they are separated, they are wonderfully co-parenting their kids. Now, in a recent interview, Shruti Haasan talked about her parent's divorce and revealed that she was glad when her parents Kamal Haasan and Sarika officially parted ways with each other. The actor thought that if two people don’t get along, they shouldn’t stay together for any reasons. She was excited for them to start their own lives.
The Ramaiya Vastavaiya was quoted saying by Zoom digital, “I was just excited for them (her parents) to live their own lives. I was glad they separated as I do not think two people who are not getting along, should get along for some reason. They continue to be wonderful parents. I am particularly close to my dad. My mum is doing well and is a part of our lives as well. It actually panned out for the best. They are both uniquely wonderful and beautiful people. They were not that beautiful together anymore. That does not take away their individual beauty as human beings. When they separated, I was very young, and it was very simple, they were happier apart than they were together.”
She also talked about her fear of being an independent woman, of being alone, of financial independence being unsteady. Shruti quipped how she was misunderstood as a person and as an artist. Earlier, in an interview, she revealed that she has financial constraints and has to get back to work amidst lockdown as she has to pay her bills.
On the professional front, Shruti Hassan will next be seen with Vijay Sethupathi in their upcoming Tamil political thriller film, Laabam. She will also be appearing as the lead lady in Prabhas starrer upcoming multilingual action thriller film, Salaar.
