Tughlaq Durbar: Vijay Sethupathi's Tughlaq Durbar To Release On Disney + Hotstar & Skip Theatrical Release
Vijay Sethupathi starrer, Tughlaq Durbar will get an OTT release instead of the big screens. As the Covid cases outpour, makers fix the deal with Disney + Hotstar for the digital launch.
Tughlaq Durbar is a Political satire directed by debutant Delhiprasad Deenadayalan and stars Vijay Sethupathi, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Parthiban in lead roles. Parthiban plays a corrupt politician and a rival to Vijay Sethupathi. Manjima Mohan, Raashi Khanna, Karunakaran, and Samyuktha also play a crucial role in the movie. The news of the theatrical release had created a lot of excitement among the fans as they were looking forward to watching it on big screens. But the fans are now disappointed as the makers announced the release of Tughlaq Durbar on Disney + Hotstar.
Producer Lalit Kumar of 7 Screen Studio went ahead and struck a deal with Disney + Hotstar for a grand premiere release. The movie was anticipated to have a big theatrical release in May but got canceled due to increasing coronavirus rates.
They are yet to announce the release date and other specifications which will be done super soon. According to sources, the routine of OTT release will again be followed by many filmmakers for the next few months till the pandemic dies down. The second wave of coronavirus has proved very bothersome for movie lovers as all their plans of watching some really great movies in theatres are ruined. This terror made the film producers of Tughlaq Durbar change their options. The makers were not sure about a theatrical release amidst all the chaos and it is also the second movie of Vijay Sethupathi to bounce off the theatrical release plans.
Annathe Sethi song given by Govind Vasantha for Tughlaq Durbar has become a favorite among the audience. Fans will get to experience a lot of variations in Vijay Sethupathi’s role. Raashi Khanna plays the love interest Tughlaq Durbar is directed by Delhi Prasad Deenadayalan, dialogues are given by Balaji Tharaneetharan and produced by Lalit Kumar of 7 Screen Studio.
On the other hand, Vijay Sethupathi has Kadaisi Vivasayi, Maamanithan, Yaadhum Oore Yaavarum Kelir, Laabam, and additional OTT projects in his kitty.
