The buzz is Venkatesh Daggubati's films "Narappa" and "Drushyam 2", both the films combined fetched INR 70 crore deal for the OTT release but there is no official announcement regarding the same.
A OTT community announced on the official Twitter account and wrote – “#Narappa goes for a Direct OTT release via Amazon Prime. Tentative release date - July 24. #Drushyam2 in final negotiations with Disney+ Hotstar for a Direct OTT release.” The fans of Venkatesh Daggubati are overwhelmed with the news and expressing their excitement by re-tweeting and words of appreciation in the comment section.
Lockdown has been eased in a lot of states amidst the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. The opening of theatres is not allowed in some big cities post lockdown too. As per the decision of state government, schools, cinema halls and gyms are continued to remain close at some places. Looking at the present situation, a lot of producers are taking the OTT way. Reportedly, Tollywood sizzling actor for decades, Venkatesh Daggubati's two coming next films “Narappa” and “Drushyam 2” will be released on OTT platforms. Further reports say, both of the films have been sold for a fancy price but there is no official announcement so far.
Producer D. Suresh Babu’s Drushyam 2 is a remake of the Malayalam film Drishyam 2 (2021) and a sequel to Drushyam (2014). The film features Venkatesh, Meena, Nadhiya, Naresh, Kruthika, Esther Anil, in important roles from the first part, whereas, Sampath Raj and Poorna are playing supplementary roles.
