#MeToo Movement Forgotten: Sony Plans To Bring Back Anu Malik For Upcoming Season Of Indian Idol
The very popular singing reality show Indian Idol is slated for its 11th season this year and now, there’s a big news that we heard from sources close to the show. Singer-composer Anu Malik who was replaced in the last season owing to #MeToo allegations against him, is being brought back to judge this season by Sony TV.

For those unaware, Anu was replaced by Javed Ali last year after sexual assault charges against him surfaced online. A source close to the show informed to SpotboyE.com that talks between both the parties are on and if all goes well, the singer-composer will be back on the show.

You may recall that Anu Malik was out of the reality show after his name had surfaced in the #MeToo movement. First, it was Sona Mohapatra who slammed him and said that he was a "serial predator." Next, Shweta Pandit also lashed out against the music composer claiming that he asked her to kiss him when she was just 15. Indian Idol's former assistant producer, Danica D’Souza had also spoken to Mid-Day about Anu's misconduct. After these incessant accusations, Sony TV decided to part ways with Anu Malik.

They had even Issued a statement that read, "Anu Mallik is no longer a part of the Indian Idol jury panel. The show will continue its planned schedule and we will invite some of the biggest names in Indian music as guests to join Vishal (Dadlani) and Neha (Kakkar) to judge the extraordinary talent of Indian Idol season 10.”

But, the singer-composer denied these allegations and called them "false and per se defamatory". He went on to add, "I want to give a detailed reply after ascertaining the correctness [of the account]." Now, with him returning as the judge of the show, we wonder if the #MeToo wave is slowing down.
