Megastar Amitabh Bachchan Pens A Heartfelt Note For Ajay Devgn's Father, Veeru Devgan
Veteran action choreographer-filmmaker and Ajay Devgn's father Veeru Devgan passed away on Monday morning. His funeral happened last evening at Vile Parle crematorium. Right from Shah Rukh Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek-Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to Sunny-Bobby Deol, many Bollywood stars paid their last respect to the veteran action director at his house. Amitabh Bachchan who is usually very vocal about his views wrote a heartfelt letter for Ajay Devgn's father who has worked with him as a stuntman in his 1971 film Reshma Aur Shera.

His letter reads, "The legendary action master and director, Khanna Saheb was conducting a dummy rehearsal for the scenario which involved Sunil Dutt Saheb the leading man of the film, being beaten up by the negative character of the village, and he was demonstrating the action on a stand-in for the leading man. The negative character was beating the leading man with a thin whip-like stick, and the leading man was taking it all in and not retaliating.

Khanna Saheb was using a stand-in for the leading man and was renowned for his authenticity when conducting stunts. He was lashing the stand-in, whip-like and with each lash, I could see the pain and agony on the stand-ins face, but he continued to complete the scene dummy rehearsal, to perfection. The stand-in getting the lashing was Veeru Devgan.”

Veeru Devgan has choreographed action stunts in over 80 films. He made his directorial debut with 1999 film Hindustan Ki Kasam, starring Ajay Devgn, Amitabh Bachchan, Manisha Koirala, and Sushmita Sen. Veeru also bankrolled films like Dil Kya Kare and Singhasan.
