‘Shehnaaz Gill’s Transformation Has Been A Milestone And Magical’, Says Her Stylist Ken Ferns
Designer and stylist Ken Ferns has opened up about Shehnaaz Gill's amazing style transformation after Bigg Boss 13.
Shehnaaz Gill, who rose to fame with her brilliant stint on Bigg Boss 13, has indeed come a long way not just in her career but in terms of fashion too. Post the show, she left everyone stunned with her drastic weight loss and of course, impeccable fashion sense. Be it any outfit, the singer nailed it like a pro. From slaying western outfits to rocking traditional outfits, Shehnaaz’s major style transformation has impressed us all. Designer and stylist Ken Ferns has played a major role in it. He styled Gill not just for Bigg Boss 13, but also her show appearances and music videos.
While speaking with Mid-day, Ken opened about Shehnaaz’s amazing style transformation and revealed what has worked for her. He was quoted as saying, “Shehnaaz’s transformation has been a milestone, it’s been magical. The transformation begins from within, when you evolve personally and intellectually. That’s what happened and it was then easy for me to put on layers and give it a different physical outlook. She naturally lost a good amount of weight. In the back of her head she kept thinking ‘pehle mujhe moti kehte thay’. So she wanted to aim and achieve something. The drive is what got her fit and she was then ready for some magic dust to be sprinkled on her by me.”
“She trusts my vision and is open to experimenting. She understands fashion and style and does self-study by looking at international pop stars. She is becoming aware of things and is ready to adapt,” he added.
Talking about what were the challenges he faced while planning stylish looks for Shehnaaz, Ken Ferns mentioned that there were no challenges as such other than that she went from size XL to XS so he had to alter all her outfits and refigure his shopping list.
The designer also recalled styling Shehnaaz Gill for the first time for BB13 and said he could never forget the funny voice notes that she had sent her from Chandigarh.
“She was known to be the Punjabi kudi and that was the first look we gave her on Bigg Boss. While planning her looks for the show, she sent me voice notes from Chandigarh. She didn’t know who I was, I didn’t know who she was. The voice notes were so funny and I still tell her she was a comedy queen. Finally, when we met, we decided to give her an ivory plain Jane Punjabi suit, which I didn’t expect to go viral. It’s not about what you wear, it’s about who you are. She nailed it! When she first went all glam her reaction was, ‘Oh god, what is this?’ But she doesn’t get into my zone because she trusts me,” Ferns further said.
On the personal front, Shehnaaz Gill has been away from media glare and social media ever since her boyfriend Sidharth Shukla died. The Bigg Boss 13 winner breathed his last in the wee hours of September 2, reportedly in his lady love Shehnaaz's lap.
